Do bonus points explain Penn State's NCAA wrestling dynasty?

Penn State scored a tournament-record 181.5 points in March 2026, its third straight record, with 17 technical falls along the way. That makes the bonus point theory feel obvious: the dynasty runs on pins, tech falls and majors. Across thirteen title runs, though, bonus tells only part of the story. Every champion scores it. Penn State's clearest historical edge is how many wrestlers reach the podium, and how high they finish. The recent tech fall spree is the new and genuinely unusual part.
